The head of fish importers (Adwene Kwansohemaa) at the Kumasi Central Market (KCM), Nana Ampong has commended the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) for taking a step that could help move the recalcitrant fish sellers who are still at the central business area to the Racecourse.
She has however called on the authorities to make sure they force such recalcitrant people to the Racecourse. She urged that, KMA authorities shouldn’t relent on their authority, but should rather make sure that all those who are supposed to be moved to the Racecourse comply.
“We are ready, only waiting for the rest to join us. We are happy the regional minister announced they are going to compel the rest to join us by next week. The mayor has also done very well by ensuring Racecourse Market is indeed a place worth to be”, she said.
Nana Ampong took the opportunity to plead with the authorities to strengthen the security system within the Racecourse, fixing the roads and lights since part of the place is occupied by wee smokers and other criminals.
