Chiefs and people of Babatokuma and its environs are demanding their own district assembly.
According to them, from Babatokuma to Benkrom is more than fifty- five (55) miles which are part of Kintampo North municipality of the Bono East Region.
The chiefs said, due to the large size of the municipality communities around the northern part of assembly such as Babatokuma, Gulumpe, Kawonpe, Kadriso, Potor, Alaasakrom among others are yet to witness any developmental project from the government.
In an appeal to the government during a press conference at Babatokum Palace, the chiefs said even though they had the required communities and population to be elevated to district status, they had sat on the sidelines for far too long.
