The Foreign Affairs Ministry says 76 Ghanaians have crossed the Sudan-Ethiopian border.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry on Sunday, it said preparations are being made for 74 evacuees to be flown into Accra on Tuesday, May 2.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration wishes to inform the general public that 76 Ghanaian nationals have successfully crossed the Sudan-Ethiopia border with the assistance of officials of the Ghana Embassy in Ethiopia and are currently in Addis Ababa.”
The Ministry also stated that a footballer and two engineers had been assisted by officials of the Ghana Embassy in Egypt to cross the Egyptian border at Wadi Halfa, north of Sudan.
It further said two other footballers were undergoing immigration processes.
Additionally, the MInistry said contact details of people who offered assistance at the borders of Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia were provided to Ghanaians who needed to cross any of the borders.
