The Government of Ghana has received 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccines today, 5th March 2020 from India.

The donation took place at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra where the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway joined by the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu received the vaccine on behalf of the Government of Ghana.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway expressed profound gratitude to the High Commissioner of India to Ghana, Sugandh Rajaram for speeding up processes to ensure the arrival of these much-needed vaccines which will go a long way in the fight against this pandemic.

She further thanked the Government of India and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi while explaining that this kind gesture reflects the very cordial and fraternal relations between Ghana and India as it underscores the mutual commitment of the two governments to work in solidarity and partnership.
