The non-profit-making organization (WAEC) has announced to release the WASSCE results of prospective candidates who sat for the 2020 edition of the WASSCE for School Candidates on October ending or the first week of November 2020.
The Head of Test Administration Division of WAEC, Mr. George K. Ohene Mantey disclosed this speaking in a Facebook program dubbed ‘Engage WAEC’ monitored by Georgeweb.org with host Winfred Ampiaw.
The WAEC staff explained that after the marking process of scripts and other stages the general public is to expect the release of the results from October ending or early first week of November this year.
According to Mr. George Mantey, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will try and minimize errors in the marking of scripts as much as possible to ensure the results of candidates are released as scheduled.
“So If we are fortunate and there are not too many errors to correct, we correct errors during the marking of scripts… If there are not too many errors then hopefully by ending of October or early first week of November we will release the results….. so first week November, it will be released”.
Asked when WAEC will start marking the 2020 WASSCE papers, the Head of National Examination of WAEC, Mr. Ben K. Owusu said 3 weeks after the end of WASSCE.
Even as the examination is ongoing we usually receive queries from some candidates asking when WAEC will release the 2020 WASSCE results after they have successfully completed the examination on September 5, 2020.
The most crucial stage of the WASSCE examination for candidates is the time the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will announce it has released the results of candidates who sat for the national examination.
The Council in an earlier statement indicated it has reduced the results waiting days from 60 to at least 45 days to release the stress of candidates and also to help those will be continuing their studies at the tertiary level.
But, amid the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic that has claimed 256 lives as of the time writing this post, prospective candidates will this year relax for the Council to release the results at its own date.
It is currently unclear the exact date the Examinations Council will release the 2020 WASSCE results for checking but members of the general public, stakeholders, and candidates can rest assured that on the first week of November, probably Tuesday, November 5, 2020, the results will be out.
