The former Ashaiman Constituency Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Shaddat is in trouble for slapping the electoral area coordinator of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ashaiman.
The NDC man is answering questions at the Ashaiman District Police over his barbaric action.
The incident occurred at Nii Doku electoral area at Valco Flat, a suburb of Ashaiman.
Speaking to MyNewsGh.com, Abdul Rahaman Osman said he was called by an NPP agent at the voter registration center that he wanted to pick a challenge form and fill it against someone who had come to the center with information on a paper to register.

He said he was informed by NPP’s agent that the applicant claimed he was a Ghanaian and hail from Bawku but said the applicant could not speak any Ghanaian language when he was interrogated by EC officials.
According to him, he quickly proceeded to the center and quizzed the applicant, saying the guy could not even speak any of the two known languages spoken by indigenes of Bawku nor was he able to speak Hausa.
He said his inability to give convincing responses to questions made them believe that he was non-Ghanaian but had probably been sent there to register in order to vote come December 7.
Unfortunately, Shaddat Jallo who was at the center with other NDC observers became angry about his insistence that the applicant is a non-Ghanaian and slapped him from behind and dazing him to fall.
