Ranking Member on Finance Committee, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has warned the Minister of Finance and its Ministry to correct irregularities in the 2021 Budget Statement lest, members of parliament will not accept, pass or approve it.

The member of parliament for Ajumako-Enyan Constituency made this statement in parliament during the 2021 Budget Debate. He said that Parliament has been ‘part of Ghana’s problem’ but this is going to change as Parliamentarians will not accept the budget till its mistakes and anomalies have been corrected by the Minister of Finance and his Ministry.

He alleged that the Budget contains a series of misrepresentations and misreports raising several questions in the minds of Ghanaians, Stakeholders, and the International Community.

Ghana’s 8th parliament on 16th March 2021 started a financial statement and economic policy debate in regard to the 2021 Budget presented by the Minister in charge of Finance, Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu last Friday.
