English Championship side Middlesbrough have confirmed the signing of English-born Ghanaian Tyrell Agyemang ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The 20-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Boro with the option to extend for another season.
Tyrell joins Michael Carrick’s side from Manchester City where he was a key figure for the youth teams as they won the Premier League 2.
The London-born defender made 13 appearances for City’s U-21s during the 2022/23 season and provided two assists in the process.
With a view to first-team football in the season ahead, the youngster has decided to join Middlesbrough with the deal being announced on Tuesday, June 6.
Tyrell has ambitions of representing Ghana at the international level despite being born in England and joins the Championship side as he sets sights on acquiring more game time.
After a good season with the Cityzens, the right-back received several offers before settling on Boro as his next home.
