After thirteen weeks of uncovering the various sampled songs in the music world, producers of the show, The Library, will bring the third season to a close this Friday.
The nation’s favourite archival show – hosted by Andy Dosty – decided to shine a spotlight on some foreign and local sampled songs on the airwaves as the concept for its third installation.
Featuring over 20 sampled songs per episode, each song was accompanied by a commentary about the year of recording/release, inspiration for its composition and ultimately the spur for its sample which was discussed throughout the chapter.

Some Ghanaian artists who were featured to have sampled songs from other musicians in this season include Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Tagoe Sisters, Nacee, Daddy Lumba, Lord Kenya, Morris Babyface, Ex-Doe, Sonny Achiba, Nana King, Akyeame, Reggie Rockstone, Kontihene, TH4Kwages, Sarkodie, Kuami Eugene, and many others.
Michael Jackson, Harry Belafonte, Miriam Makeba, Manu Dibango, Fela Kuti, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Peter Andre, The Highwaymen, David Bowie, Eddie Floyd, Bobby Brown, Sean Paul, Boris Gardiner, DMX, Onyeka Onwenu and more were among the foreign artists featured so far.
The final episode which will air on Friday, April 28 will be climaxed with sampled songs from artists like Shaggy, Keyshia Cole, Aaliyah, Lauryn Hill, Lionel Richie and more.
The following season and its concept will be communicated in a fortnight.
