The second edition of the Nation Building updates was held at the Academy of Arts and Science.
Speaking on the education sector, Minister for Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh says that teachers are the center for quality education.
According to him, under President Nana Addo‘s government the teachers have been able to receive d a lot of benefits. They have employed over 24,000 teachers under his administration and 6,500 teachers are said to be employed on November 2nd.

He also said in an attempt to enhance the state of teachers, pupil-teacher, diploma courses have changed to a degree under the Kuffour and Nana Addo’s government. This he said pushed Ghana to be ranked second for people’s Implicit views on the status of teachers right after China. Also, Ghana won the Africa Teachers prize and is also part of the top global 50 teachers in the world.
He further stated that the teacher’s
training allowance has been restored and also they added the Institutes Professional teachers allowance, which would help teachers but teachers have to be validated to receive it.
