Bono Region ( Sunyani) – The Sunyani Regional Command of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in collaboration with the Driving Vehicle and Licensing Authority Alongside Road Safety Authority have been stepped up efforts to sensitise and educate motorists and pedestrians on road traffic regulations to ensure an accident-free in the Bono region.
The MTTD command has also increased police visibility on the main Sunyani Dormaa Ahenkro road, Sunyani Techiman road and Sunyani Kumasi road.
In an interview with the Deputy Regional MTTD Commander, DSP Anku Yaw said the team educates commercial drivers on safety practices and the need for them to exercise discipline on the road.
DSP Anku Yaw said the police served notice that the police will strictly enforce the law to aid compliance on the part of motorists.
Isaac Nyarko the Bono Regional Manager of the DVLA said, the drivers to be mindful of their own safety and that of other road users by respecting road signs, wearing a seatbelt, avoiding speeding, and inappropriate maneuvering among other practices.

On his part the Bono Regional Road Safety Authority Manager, Mr. Kwasi Agyenim Boateng Said this year alone the Bono region has recorded a lot of road accidents, and it is a very important exercise for both drivers and pedestrians.
