The son of former NDC flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Kwabena Duffour has lost his bid to represent the party in the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Kwabena Duffour Jnr lost his chance to be the Sekyere Afram Plains parliamentary candidate to one Hajia Nasira Afrah.
Nasira Afrah won with 211 votes and Dr Duffour Jnr got 203. He lost with only eight votes.
Meanwhile, the incumbent Member of Parliament Dr. Alex Adomako Mensah was unseated as the party’s candidate after he lost with 86 votes.
Also, Professor Edward Brenyah lost with 65 votes.
This comes after Dr. Kwaneba Duffour Snr withdrew from the race to become the party’s flagbearer.
At a press conference on Friday, he stated that his decision is based on his grievances with the processes surrounding the party’s primaries; especially the voters’ register.
According to him, the exercise has been marred by a lot of irregularities; a situation which has not been resolved by the leadership of the party.
