Legacy Girls’ College proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of two of its students, Huda Suglo Suleman and Paula Adzo Elinam Sowu, who have received national recognition for their exceptional performance in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council.

Huda Suglo Suleman has been named Best Overall Candidate in Ghana and Best Candidate in the General Programme (Arts Option). In addition, Paula Adzo Elinam Sowu has been recognised as the 2nd Best Overall Candidate in Ghana.

These remarkable accomplishments mark a proud moment for Legacy Girls’ College and reinforce the school’s growing reputation for nurturing young women who excel academically while demonstrating strong character and leadership.

The recognition is particularly significant as it follows another national honour in the previous year, when a Legacy student was also ranked among the top candidates in the General Arts programme.

At Legacy Girls’ College, the philosophy of education extends beyond examination performance. The school says it does not simply seek students who are already the highest achievers; rather, it focuses on identifying potential and nurturing it through strong teaching, mentorship, and a learning culture that encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

While preparing students to excel in national examinations such as the WASSCE, Legacy’s broader mission is to develop well-rounded young women capable of critical thinking, innovation, and leadership. Students are also encouraged to explore both STEM and the Arts, including music, storytelling, and creative expression, as part of a holistic approach to education.

“In many education systems, examination results are often treated as the primary measure of academic excellence. While we are proud of these exceptional results, our deeper commitment is to help every girl discover her capacity to think, create, and lead,” the school noted.

“These recognitions affirm that when young women are supported by dedicated teachers, a nurturing environment, and a culture that values curiosity and purpose, they can achieve extraordinary outcomes”, it added.

Legacy Girls’ College extends its heartfelt congratulations to Huda and Paula for their dedication, discipline, and excellence. The school also acknowledges the commitment of its teachers, the support of parents, and the collective effort of the Legacy community in shaping young women who aspire not only to succeed academically but also to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the wider world.

The overall Best candidates received a cash prize of GHS30,000 and a Laptop from Zenith Bank. The 2nd Overall Best Candidate also received a cash prize of GHS20,000 and a Laptop from Agricultural Development Bank Plc.

The WAEC Endowment Fund also gave the overall best $1,200 and the 2nd Overall Best $900 cash prize.
