The spokesperson of NDC Insight, Dr Anthony Sorkpah, has said that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is concerned about equipping Ghanaian youth with the tools to succeed in a competitive global economy in his second spell as president of Ghana.
According to him, Ghana’s former president, John Dramani Maham, recognises the critical role that the youth of every country play in shaping the country’s economy; hence, investing in the Ghanaian youth will significantly revamp Ghana’s economy.
He spoke about the urgency of tackling youth unemployment: “His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is deeply committed to empowering young people through education, entrepreneurship, and skill development initiatives.” This commitment is sure to inspire and motivate the audience.
He added that huge resource investments in the youth will foster an environment that encourages innovation and creativity, and Ghanaians will benefit from voting the former president into power for another term.
“His focus on youth engagement ensures that the next generation will actively participate in Ghana’s development journey, which the country wants to rip.”
Dr Anthony further stated that a database would be built to allow graduates to post their resumes on the platform, automatically matching them to employment possibilities based on their credentials and criteria.
He stated that job match alerts will be sent to both recruiters and candidates whenever a position that meets their criteria becomes available.
Dr. Anthony stated that John Dramani Mahama’s administration intends to implement a nationwide youth apprenticeship program. This program will be rolled out in collaboration with various industries and vocational training centres, providing hands-on training and development opportunities for young people outside formal education.
“By offering training in trades and skills, these programs can enable underprivileged youth to develop valuable expertise and potentially become entrepreneurs in their own right,” he added, instilling a sense of hope and optimism in the audience.
Dr Anthony observed that the online data-based approach would curb nepotism and favouritism that characterised employment in the public sector, instilling a sense of reassurance and confidence in the audience.
