A major road traffic accident occurred on the Kpeve–Asikuma road at Anyensu, near Peki in the Volta Region, on Friday, March 27, involving a Howo trailer (CW-2026-25).

According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the crash, which took place at approximately 17:29 pm, prompted a response from the Peki Fire Station.

The distress call was promptly received, and within ten minutes, a rescue team, led by Assistant Station Officer (ASTN.O) Jonas Amenorfe, arrived at the scene at 17:39 pm.

Upon reaching the location, the crew found the trailer’s carriage lying on its side, severely damaged, with the head of the trailer detached from the main body. The vehicle was carrying 340 sacks of dried cassava from Kpandai to Juapong when it overturned.

Trapped inside the wreckage were the driver, Enoch Amo, aged 28, and his mate, Osei Kwabena, 32. The two men were unable to free themselves from the twisted metal and debris of the truck.
