Ethiopia’s Walias will take on Ghana’s Black Stars in Kenya in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) imposed a suspension on the Bahir Dar Stadium, where the Ethiopian national team played their matches, including a 3-1 setback to South Africa in World Cup qualifiers.
The African Football Confederation has agreed that the match against Ghana’s Black Stars, planned for November 11, 2021will be held in Kenya.
The Bahir Dar Stadium was judged unsuitable to accommodate international matches by CAF after failure to reach at least seven of its demands, including a subpar medical facility, VIP and media centers, as well as the stadium’s training facilities.
The stadium is no longer allowed to host international matches, including World Cup qualifiers and the CAF African Champions League Confederation.
