Bono East Regional Minister, Hon Kofi Amoako Hene has launched the 2020 edition of the National Farmers’ celebration.
This year’s celebration, the 36th of its kind would be held in Techiman the Bono Regional capital.
Farmers from the remaining 15 regions would participate in the celebration in December.
The 2020 celebration is under the theme: Ensuring Agribusiness Development under COVID 19 opportunity and Challenges.

The occasion would be used to award farmers and fisherfolks who have worked tirelessly to contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian Economy.
Speaking at the launch on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Bonokyempim Hall in Techiman, HON Kofi Amoako Hene observed the farmers were the backbone of the Ghanaian Economy.
He said the government would continue to work hard to safeguard agriculture.
He said the government recognise that Ghana farmers and fisherfolks still had some challenges that needed to be addressed.
He assured Ghanaians Bono East region and to be precise Techiman is more than ready to host this year’s celebration with confidence like other regions.
The Minister said, the government would continue to invest in Agriculture.
Mrs. Cecilia Agyeman, Bono East Regional director of Agric said that, the agric sector has well prepared to welcome this year’s farmers’ day events.
