Some Ghanaian entrepreneurs, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and current and former government officials, led by Prof. Emeritus Stephen Adei, launched the 2025 Executive Business and Development Summit.

A three-day Executive Business and Development Summit 2025 has been held in Accra to equip young entrepreneurs with the tools to navigate challenges and harness innovation for growth.

The summit, hosted by Success Hub in collaboration with international and local partners including Queen’s University, Canada, and the McDan Group, is being held under the theme “From Challenge to Change: Leveraging Entrepreneurship, Innovation and AI for Sustainable Development.”

It has brought together entrepreneurs, business leaders, government officials, and members of the diplomatic corps in the country.

The summit started on 9th September and is expected to end on Thursday, 1th September.

On the second day of the summit, participants were urged to embrace challenges as opportunities and to take advantage of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Founder and Executive Chairman of the McDan Group, Dr Daniel McKorley, shared his entrepreneurial journey with the participants, emphasising the importance of consistency.

Sierra Leone’s High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Mohamed Hassan Kaisamba, addressed concerns about the disruptive nature of AI. “When we speak of Artificial Intelligence, it appears that jobs will be lost, it appears that humans will be replaced. I say to you today, AI is not to be feared,” he told the young entrepreneurs.

Former Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, also at the summit encouraged the participants to see problems as pathways to innovation. “As entrepreneurs, look for challenges. Do not run away from them. Look at the problems as an opportunity,” he advised.

In his welcome address, the Country Chair of the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust, Ghana, and host of the summit, Mr Kingsley Kwaku Pinkrah, said the gathering was more than just an event.

“This summit is a call to action. In Ghana today, youth unemployment stands at nearly 20 per cent, and over 400,000 young people enter the labour market every year with only a fraction finding sustainable work. These realities demand bold ideas, practical solutions, and strong collaborations, exactly what this summit intends to deliver,” he noted.

The summit continues with more sessions designed to mentor, train, and inspire the next generation of Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
