“You were my partner in life, my confidant, my counsellor, and my truest friend,” the wife of the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, said in a heartfelt tribute to her husband at the state burial of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
For twenty-eight years, she said, they had walked through life side by side, sharing both their happiest days and their most difficult moments. “You gave me love that was constant and deep, and you made our home a place of warmth, love, mutual respect and faith,” she recalled.
She spoke of the man behind the public figure a disciplined, compassionate, and principled leader who balanced the demands of national service with devotion to his family.
“You bore the demands of public service with patience, diligence, and dignity, yet you never allowed that to overshadow the love and attention you gave to us at home,” she said.
According to her, his gift was not only leadership but the ability to make family wherever he went. She remembered how he supported education for those with promise, mediated disputes with calm wisdom, and stood by the vulnerable when they had no one else.
“Because of you, our family grew beyond blood, stretching across the length and breadth of Ghana, held together by trust, gratitude, and love,” she noted.
She described him as a man who inspired loyalty through character, not demand, and whose absence would leave a void that no one could fill.
“I will miss your laughter in our home, your gentle reassurances in times of difficulty, and your quiet strength that made me feel safe no matter the storm,” she said.
She thanked Allah for the gift of their years together and prayed for eternal peace for her husband.
“Rest well, my love. I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my days, and I thank Allah for the gift of twenty-eight years by your side. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdaus and unite us again in His mercy,” she said.
