The best graduating student of the Ghana School of Law, Latifa Teiya Fuseini, Esq., has outlined some lifestyle activities she had to quit in order to achieve her goal.
In an interview with Doreen Avio on Joy Prime’s Changes show, she said that her days in school were intense, often beginning very early and ending late at night, due to the demanding academic schedule she had to follow.
“I wake up by 4am and school starts from 7am to 6pm and happens two days in a week but very intense. So I had to wake up early and go by 5am to beat traffic; get to Makola till 6pm. Sometimes if we’re lucky and there’s a canceled lecture, then we close at 4pm. After that the day is gone by and sometimes I stay behind to study a bit; get home, study a little and go to bed. But the other two days, we were doing internship either with a law firm or a court. With that, you go to court, observe proceedings and come back home.”
However, when asked if she had time to hang out with friends or family, she said she had to give up such activities in order to achieve her ambitions, urging others to do the same.
“You have to cut a bit of those things away when you have a goal you want to achieve. We only had three days free from school but you also have to study. So, I had to cut back on my social life a bit,” she said.
Nonetheless, she made a little time to attend some gatherings despite her busy schedule. She advised that such activities should not be done regularly but should be managed properly.
She also highlighted that discipline plays a key role in success, noting that one must be mindful of their daily routines and prioritize their studies.
Lawyer Teiya emphasized that individuals should prioritize group studies, as they contributed significantly to her academic excellence given how cumbersome the program is.
