The Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign in the 2024 elections, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has taken a swipe at President John Mahama, insisting that he must remain faithful to the promises made in his manifesto, particularly the Feed Ghana initiative.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show on Tuesday, April 15, Mr Aboagye challenged Mr Mahama’s credibility.

According to him, the President cannot expect to gain the trust of voters only to veer off course once elected.

“He cannot depart from why we voted for him,” Aboagye stated. “You can’t come into office and come and change your position. We voted for you because of the things you said you would do in your manifesto—implement them,” he said.

“He said a lot of lofty things,” Aboagye noted.

Mr Aboagye remarked that while the proposals outlined by Mr Mahama appear ambitious, their success ultimately depends on his capacity to implement them, something Aboagye believes remains questionable.

“Based on the things he said, I think that if he implements them, this can be done. But if he fails at implementing them like he is failing at galamsey, then clearly, we will not get anywhere,” he stated.

The government unveiled the new agriculture initiative dubbed “Feed Ghana Programme” to facilitate a transformation of the country’s agricultural sector.

The programme was officially introduced in Techiman in the Bono East Region, on Saturday, April 12, 2025.

The initiative seeks to boost agricultural production to feed the population, provide raw materials to feed agro-processing factories and create jobs for the teeming youth.
