Multi-talented Ghanaian artiste Worlasi Langini says there is absolutely nothing wrong with musicians taking money from politicians.

According to him, politicians paying royalties to artistes for using their works does not in any way amount to partisanship.

“Some have kids; they have families to take care of; they have homes to pay bills; ‘charle’ people are doing things, and if my music is going to support your party to do this thing and you’re giving me money, why not? So if they want to do it, ‘charle’, they have to; it’s necessary,” he said.

In an interview with Amelly Djosu on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz, the alternative musician indicated that artistes who work with political figures should be courageous to point out their ills in society.

The “We all go die” hit-maker added that the silence of musicians on pertinent issues plaguing the country is worrying.

He added that the failure of artistes to use the power of music to speak true to power may go a long way to have dire consequences for future generations.

“So if they want to collect it, it’s up to them; it’s just the influence. After collecting the money, if the person is not doing the job, tell the person that ‘please, you are not doing the job’ but don’t keep quiet and support the person even if the person is killing everybody; your children will suffer later,” he noted.

Worlasi also said that artistes who turn a blind eye to the malicious acts of politicians are contributing to the many citizens fleeing the country in search of supposed greener pastures abroad.
