World Cup 2026Q: ‘We should have killed the game’ – Otto Addo on Chad draw

Head Coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Otto Addo, has bemoaned his side’s wastefulness in front of goal in the frustrating 1-1 draw with Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium.

The matchday seven encounter in N’Djamena ended in a stalemate as Jordan Ayew’s opener was cancelled out in the dying embers by the hosts through forward Ecua Celestin, denying Ghana all three points.

It was Chad’s first point in the qualifiers after losing all their previous six.

“We had a lot of chances, we could have killed the game before, or we must have killed the game before, but we didn’t do it,” Otto said at the post-match conference.

“They had one big chance, I think there were some wide shots from Chad, but other than that, there was no big chance, just one deflection in the goal. So yeah, it’s really, really disappointing for us. I want to congratulate Chad for getting the point, for sure.”
