Ghana’s Ibrahim Fuseini could not progress to the men’s 200m semi-finals at the 2025 World Athletics Championships after finishing sixth in his heat.
Fuseini clocked 20.66 seconds with Jamaica’s Bryan Levell winning the heat in 19.84, followed by Zimbabwe’s Makanakaishe Charamba (20.06) and Australia’s Gout Gout (20.23), who all advanced.
It continues a difficult championship for Ghana’s sprinters.
Abdul Rasheed Saminu narrowly missed out on the men’s 100m final after placing fourth in his semi-final. Benjamin Azamati also made an early exit, finishing sixth in his opening-round heat.
In the men’s 800m, Alex Amankwah was unable to progress, bringing an early end to his campaign.
