At Orca Deco Ghana, we believe in fairness and supporting our customers, especially after years of economic challenges.

That’s why we’re proud to announce a 15% price reduction across our products, effective Monday, May 12, 2025.

The Reason Behind Our Decision

Since January 2022, the Ghanaian cedi has faced significant depreciation, directly impacting prices and consumer purchasing power:

  • December 2021: ₵6.50 = $1
  • September 2022: ₵12.70 = $1
  • 2023: Stabilized near ₵12.00 = $1
  • 2024: Sharp decline to ₵16.40 = $1 by September

But now, there’s great news:
Since April 20, 2025, the cedi has staged a remarkable recovery, reaching ₵13.30 = $1 by May 9, 2025. Bloomberg recently declared on May 8, 2025, that the cedi was the “best-performing currency in the world, «appreciating by 16% against the dollar.

Standing with Ghanaian Consumers

For over three years, rising costs have strained households and businesses. Now, with the cedi’s strong rebound, we believe it’s only right to pass on the benefits to you, our valued customers.

This decision also aligns with the appeal by Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, who urged businesses to reflect the cedi’s appreciation in their pricing. At Orca Deco Ghana, we’re taking proactive steps to:
✔ Ease financial pressure on consumers
✔ Protect purchasing power
✔ Support economic recovery

Looking Ahead

The big question remains: Will the cedi’s strength last?

While we hope for continued stability—ideally near the ₵12.00 = $1 rate seen in 2023—we remain committed to fair pricing regardless of market fluctuations. A strong cedi benefits everyone: consumers, businesses, and Ghana’s fight against inflation.

Thank You for Your Trust

We’re grateful for your loyalty and excited to deliver more affordable prices without compromising quality. Shop with us starting May 12, 2025, and experience the Orca Deco difference!
