The 18th edition of WAMPEX (West African Mining and Power Exhibition) will take place from 28-30 May 2025, at the AICC and Grand Arena in Ghana. The organisers of the event are excited to announce two changes.

Firstly, the event will now be a formal partnership between dmg events, the Ghana Chamber of Mines and EPI.  Secondly, the event will move onto an annual basis (from taking place every second year).

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with the Ghana Chamber of Mines, on a more formal basis.  We are also excited to be hosting this event annually.  With growing focus on Ghana and the rest of the region from a mining power perspective, we believe that there is a need for an annual platform to connect solution providers in the mining and power sectors with key buyers from across the region” Says Joshua Low, Vice President at dmg events.

“We are delighted to formalize our partnership with dmg events and EPI to further elevate WAMPEX as the premier mining and power exhibition in West Africa. Hosting the event annually aligns with our commitment to creating more opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and growth in the sector. Ghana continues to be a beacon for mining excellence, and we look forward to welcoming industry players from across the region to explore new solutions and drive sustainable development” says Ahmed Dasana Nantogmah, Acting CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.

This year event promises to be the largest of its kind, with over 200 exhibitors from 10 different countries and over 5000 attendees expected.  The WAMPEX conference which runs alongside the event., will bring together industry leaders from across the region to network, learn and grow.

“The West African mining sector has experienced significant growth, particularly in gold production, driven by factors like attractive national mining policies, foreign investment, and the region’s rich mineral reserves.  Ghana, with its stable economy and strategic position in West Africa is the perfect destination to host this event which is the longest running and largest mining and power show in the region” Adds Low

This year’s exhibition will feature an ‘Innovation Zone’ for visitors to hear about the latest trends and technologies available in the industry to streamline operations, increase efficiencies and reduce costs.  The conference will feature an exciting line up of speakers and topics covering topics like ‘Advancing Sustainable Practices and Economic Empowerment in Small-Scale Mining’, ‘ESG in the Mining and Energy Sectors – Constraints or Opportunities?’ and a host of other vital topics to address key trends and challenges in the sector.

“The event provides the perfect platform for industry professionals in the mining and power sector to source from hundreds of leading solution providers, network with thousands of industry professionals from around the world and learn from the conference and workshops” Finishes Low.
