WAFU U20 Girls' Cup: Black Princesses beat Benin 2-0 in tournament opener

Ghana’s Black Princesses kicked off their WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup title defence with a convincing performance against Benin on Friday, November 7.

The Black Princesses recorded a 2-0 win over the host country, with Linda Owusu Ansah and Sarah Nyarko getting on the scoresheet.

Ghana enjoyed a great start to the game as they created a few chances from their wing play but were unfortunate not to break the deadlock.

However, a long ball from Diana Amoako found Agnes Yeboah, who squared it into the path of Linda Owusu Anasah to open the scoring in the 23rd minute.

After the break, Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson introduced Sarah Nyarko for Agnes Yeboah.

The Dreamz Ladies midfielder scored the second goal of the game in the 78th minute to double Ghana’s lead and take the game beyond the reach of the host nation.
