Ghana’s Black Queens attacker Alice Kusi is urging her teammates to “play for the badge” as they take on Tanzania in their final Group match at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Queens are winless in their two matches at the continental event – 2-0 defeat to South Africa before playing out a 1-1 draw with Mali.
The Queens now sit bottom of Group C with 1 point and two goals conceded.
The upcoming match, slated for Monday July 11, against Tanzania is a must-win for Ghana to stand a chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
“We have our last game to play at the WAFCON [against Tanzania],” Alice told Sporty FM.
“The excuses are too much. It’s better we put everything aside and play for the badge. I’m not saying we didn’t do our best previously but football is all about results.”
