In a unanimous decision, Alfred Klu Odikro has been endorsed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Agotime Ziope in the Volta region, securing a 100% approval from the assembly members.
This endorsement marks a significant vote of confidence in his leadership and vision for the district’s future.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Odikro acknowledged the weight of the responsibility ahead, recognising the challenges involved in steering the district’s affairs.
However, he reassured both the assembly and the residents that his administration, in close collaboration with the assembly members, would implement strategic measures aimed at fostering sustainable growth and development.
He emphasised that his leadership would focus on key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and road infrastructure — all critical components for the socio-economic transformation of Agotime Ziope. By improving these areas, he believes the district can significantly enhance the quality of life for its people.
The newly appointed DCE called on residents to support the assembly as it strives to fulfil its mandate. He stressed that meaningful development can only be achieved through collective effort and shared commitment to progress.
“It is only through our joint efforts that we can make the desired impact in improving the quality of life for our people,” he said, encouraging citizens to actively engage in governance and community initiatives.
Reacting to the overwhelming support, the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, expressed his enthusiasm over the unity and backing shown by the assembly members.
He praised the assembly for their confidence in Mr. Odikro’s leadership, expressing optimism that a similar consensus would be achieved in other districts across the region.
“I am hopeful that this spirit of unity and commitment to development will continue in other districts,” he remarked.
Mr. Odikro’s unanimous endorsement signals the beginning of a new era of leadership and progress for Agotime Ziope. As he assumes office, expectations are high for tangible development initiatives that will transform the district into a prosperous and thriving community.
