The Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) Major General Diodato Abagnara, has paid a solidarity visit to the Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT) Headquarters on Thursday, 19 March 2026, to assess the damage caused by the rocket attack on the camp.
During the visit, the Force Commander was briefed on the incident, which occurred on Friday, 6 March 2026, resulting in various degrees of injuries to four Ghanaian peacekeepers, destruction of several accommodation facilities and the rapid emergency response mounted by GHANBATT personnel.

Major General Abagnara visited the affected areas and also interacted with the soldiers who narrowly survived the attack, where he assured the battalion of the support and commitment of the mission to ensuring the safety and security of all peacekeepers operating in the sector.

He commended the professionalism, discipline, and resilience displayed by the soldiers under extreme conditions.
The Commanding Officer of GHANBATT 92, Lieutenant Colonel Evans Yaw Mensah Komedjah, expressed appreciation for the visit, emphasising its significance in boosting the morale of the troops after the unfortunate event.
