Lecturers at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Medical Sciences have begun an indefinite strike in response to what they describe as ongoing issues with promotions and career progression within the institution.
The lecturers contend that they have faced persistent delays in their promotion processes despite fulfilling all required professional and academic qualifications.
This has resulted in significant frustration among staff, with some even contemplating leaving the university due to the lack of clear opportunities for career advancement.
The lecturers have urged the university’s management and relevant authorities to take immediate action to address the issue.
However, the UCC administration has yet to provide an official response to the strike.
