UBA Awarded

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited has been recognised by President Nana Akufo-Addo for the distinguished roles it played during the fight to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.

The award was presented at the 2023 National Honours and Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The Bank donated an amount of $350,000 equivalent to GH¢1,925,000 in 2020 to the Ghana COVID-19 Trust Fund set up by the President.

The donation, which was part of UBA’s Corporate Social Responsibility presented a total of $14 million to various governments in Africa where the Bank has operations.

The Bank also with the support of the Bank of Ghana, provided relief to creditors and reduced interest rates.

In addition, UBA rescheduled payments to borrowers that were badly hit by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
