
Firefighters from the Bechem Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Ahafo Region have rescued six victims, while two others perished in a road traffic accident at Kwasu, along the Bechem–Techimantia road.

The incident occurred on Monday, November 10, when a Toyota Voxy (registration AS 6403-25) crashed.
According to the firefighters, a seven-member rescue team, led by ASTNO Kwaku Doe, responded promptly.

Two of the eight occupants were declared dead at the scene and handed over to police authorities, while the remaining six were transported by the National Ambulance Service to Bechem Government Hospital for treatment.
The GNFS disclosed that the vehicle sustained extensive damage, and the cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
Investigation Underway
The Regional GNFS Public Relations Officer for the Ahafo Region, ADO I Adawu George, confirmed the incident.
The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the Toyota Voxy losing control and crashing.
The GNFS has been widely commended for its rapid and effective rescue operation, which saved the lives of the six survivors.
