Techiman police arrest 25 in major swoop; drugs seized

In a crackdown on crime and illicit drug trade, the Techiman District Police Command launched a major intelligence-led operation across the municipality on Tuesday evening, leading to the arrest of 25 suspects.

The operation, which commenced at 6:00 pm on December 16, was spearheaded by Superintendent Charles Atuah.

Police teams simultaneously stormed identified criminal hideouts and ghettos in three separate communities to flush out suspected gang members and drug dealers.

“A preemptive strike was necessary to disrupt the activities of these criminal elements and drug peddlers who pose a threat to the peace and security of Techiman,” stated Supt. Atuah. “This operation sends a clear message that the police will not relent in creating a safe environment for all residents.”
