The Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman North, Hon. Adom Johnson, has paid a Courtesy call on the Omanhene of Tuobodom Traditional Area, Nana Agyei Kokoo Takyifri Beyeeman II, as part of his familiarisation tour after assuming office as the new MCE.
In his address, the Hon. Adom Johnson thanked the traditional authorities and the people of Tuobodom for their immense support during his nomination and election as the MCE. He assured that he would use his office to seek the total development of the area.
He, however, stressed that this aim could never be achieved without the support of the traditional rulers and therefore called for a concerted effort by all to ensure the dream becomes a reality—collaboration with the Chiefs as the Custodians of the Land to develop Techiman North together.
Hon. Adom K. Johnson appealed to Nana to support President John Dramani Mahama’s good policies to help develop Techiman North.
He also visited the palace to acquaint himself with the Chiefs and Elders, paving the way for collaboration, Peace, and unity among the two entities. The MCE believed that his visit would be a driving step towards development in the municipality.
Hon Adom K. Johnson assured the Chief and Elders that his doors are open for consultation towards the community’s development.
On his part, Nana Agyei Kokoo Takyifiri Beyeewoman II, the Paramount Chief of Tuobodom Traditional Area, thanked the MCE for exuding kindness, demonstrated by his outfit, and this would go a long way to ensure the smooth transformation of Tuobodom and the Municipality as a whole.
Nana seized the opportunity to advise the MCE. He used the bible’s King David as an example, from which the MCE would draw inspiration.
King David had many able-bodied brothers, and yet, being the youngest among them, living in the bush as a common shepherd, the almighty God chose him to lead his people out of oppressive rule under the cruel leadership of the Philistines.
The chief continued, “God knows you better than even President Mahama and has appointed you with the responsibility as MCE. God knows what is in you, so you have his blessings already. Trust in the mighty name of Jehovah God, and you can perform without any fear.”
The Paramount Chief capitalised on the visit of the MCE to appeal to him that, under his watch, Tuobodom must develop.

About Tuobodom
Tuobodom is a vibrant town nestled in the Bono East Region of Ghana, serving as the capital of the Techiman North District. It was officially designated as a district capital during the presidency of John Evans Atta Mills.
The town thrives on farming, with tomatoes and green peppers being the dominant crops grown on a large scale.
Many residents are farmers, but others are traders and government workers contributing to the local economy.
Tuobodom is surrounded by towns like Aworowa, Buoyem, Offuman, and Tano Boase, forming a network of communities with shared cultural and economic ties.
The town’s origins trace back to the Akan migration from the Chad-Benue region, with early settlers believed to be part of the ancient Ghana Empire.
A fascinating legend tells of Chief Drobo, who, in a moment of desperation, transformed into a river to provide water for his people. His successor, Chief Tuo, is credited with founding Tuobodom around the 14th century.
The name “Tuobodom” is said to derive from the beads (bodom) worn by the people, symbolising their lineage and identity.
Tuobodom is not just a dot on the map—it is a place rich in history, agriculture, and community spirit.
Tuobodom, like many growing towns in Ghana, faces a range of infrastructural challenges that hinder its development and quality of life.
Poor road conditions affect access to farms, markets, and neighbouring towns, especially during the rainy season.
Limited public transport options make commuting difficult for residents and traders.
Access to clean drinking water remains inconsistent, with many relying on boreholes or untreated sources.
Sanitation infrastructure is inadequate, leading to health risks and environmental degradation.
Under-resourced clinics and schools struggle with staffing, equipment, and maintenance.
Students often travel long distances for secondary education, and healthcare services are limited in scope and capacity.
