Team Ghana’s junior wheelchair tennis players, Emmanuel Amosogo Amobire and Henry Kwadwo Adjapong, along with their coach, Thomas Youkaah, departed from Accra on October 2, 2025, heading to Johannesburg, South Africa.
They will participate in the 2025 ITF Africa Wheelchair Tennis Junior Camp, scheduled for October 3rd and 4th, as part of the International Tennis Federation’s development pathway for wheelchair tennis in Africa.
Following the camp, the trio will compete in an ITF-sanctioned Juniors Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Johannesburg.
This marks the second consecutive year that both players are participating in this prestigious tournament, presenting them with an excellent opportunity to enhance their skills and improve their ITF junior rankings ahead of their transition to senior tournaments in 2026.
The players also hope to undergo classification at this ITF event, further advancing their competitive journey in wheelchair tennis.
The team expresses gratitude for the generous grant provided for the ITF Africa Junior Camp, and they are especially thankful to the National Coordinator of GTF Wheelchair Tennis for the full sponsorship of their participation in the 2025 Johannesburg Junior Tournament.
Additionally, Team Ghana acknowledges the unwavering support from the Ghana Tennis Federation President, Mr. Isaac Abe Duah, the GTF Board, and the GTF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, which has been instrumental in facilitating this opportunity.
The team is expected to return to Ghana on October 8, 2025, bringing back invaluable experience and insights to contribute to the growth of wheelchair tennis in Ghana.
