Residents of Subriso and surrounding communities in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti Region are urging the government to repair the Manfo-Subriso road, which has become nearly impassable.
Commuters face daily hardships from dust, potholes, and frequent delays, severely affecting travel and livelihoods.
Kwadwo Manu, a motorcyclist, described the ordeal: “We’re tired of dust, pushing cars, potholes, and delays. It is frustrating; we need help,” he told Adom News.
The road, a vital link connecting several farming communities, worsens during the rainy season, making transportation of goods and services extremely difficult. Farmers are losing produce, students are missing school, and access to healthcare is compromised.
“The situation’s getting worse by the day. We have been calling out to our MP and DCE for help, but they seem deaf to our pleas. Yet, we’re the ones who vote them in during elections,” a resident said.
“Listen to our cries and fix the road to ease our suffering.”
The communities have been appealing to the government for years, but no action has been taken, prompting residents to call for urgent intervention to improve their daily lives.
