Despite his youth, Stephen Edwin Ewoodzie stands as living proof of selflessness and the power of hard work.

His journey from humble beginnings in Tarkwa, through years of service in humanitarian projects, to becoming a successful and well‐known businessman—and a beacon of hope for many in Nkawkaw and beyond—has now earned him an honorary doctorate: a Global Doctorate in Humanitarian and Ministerial Excellence awarded by the International Kingdom University, Florida.

Early Life and Background

Born in Tarkwa, in the Western Region, to the late Stephen Edwin Ewoodzie and Anna Abban, Stephen grew up in a home deeply rooted in the Christian faith.

His lineage is one of spiritual devotion: his grandfather was a Methodist priest, his uncle a priest of the United Methodist Church, and one of his siblings has also entered the priesthood.

The presence of clergy in his family has shaped his values of compassion, service, and leadership, making him a natural leader in every sphere of his life.

Education and Early Career

Although he was born in the Western Region, Stephen spent most of his formative years in the Central Region, where he attended Apam Methodist Junior High School.

He studied General Arts at T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Gomoa Potsin, completing his studies in 2002. Following high school, his passion for education and community development led him to teach at Saint James Preparatory School in Apam Junction.

However, his desire to do more for society pushed him beyond the classroom.

His journey into humanitarian service began with an opportunity to work with Newlife Foundation, an NGO focused on water and sanitation projects supported by USAID.

His dedication quickly caught the attention of many, and he soon found himself balancing multiple roles.

Before long, he began working as a receptionist at Greenland Hotel in Agona Swedru while also serving as a Project Coordinator for Mission Central Ghana—an NGO owned by his uncle, a United Methodist Church priest in the USA.

Humanitarian Work and Achievements

Committed to making a tangible difference, Stephen made the bold decision to pursue full-time humanitarian work.

His leadership at Mission Central Ghana resulted in several remarkable achievements, including:

• Building a school for the people of Gomoa Awombra at New Winneba Junction.

• Establishing a pen manufacturing factory to provide employment opportunities.

• Constructing a nursery school and a Methodist church for the community.

• Replicating these successes in Yikpala (Northern Region) by building a CHPS (Community-based Health Planning and Services) compound and making donations to underserved communities.

His role involved budgeting, planning, writing proposals, managing staff, and liaising with international partners. He was mostly unpaid—it was a labour of love, driven by a deep sense of purpose.

Further Career Developments

Eager to expand his knowledge, Stephen pursued an HND at Merrison College in 2009/2010, after which he relocated to Kumasi.

His reputation for integrity and hard work earned him a managerial position at Champion International Hotel, owned by Dr Kweku Frimpong, CEO of Champion Divine Clinic.

His dedication did not go unnoticed; in 2013, Chinese businessmen who frequented the hotel recruited him to Nkawkaw, where he transitioned into the gold business.

Since then, Stephen has built a reputation as a successful businessman, farmer, and philanthropist. He is happily married to the lovely Eunice Agyekumwaa, and together they have five beautiful children.

Continued Commitment and Recent Pursuits

As the CEO of True Living God Farms, he has provided employment to many, ensuring that the benefits of his success extend beyond himself.

With increasing concerns about sustainable and ethical mining practices, Stephen—who is certified in Natural Resources Law and Public Service Leadership and Governance from Presbyterian University, Ghana—goes to great lengths to operate responsibly.

Despite his busy schedule, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Presbyterian University.

His generosity has touched countless lives through the construction of mechanised boreholes for communities struggling with water shortages, yearly donations to orphanages nationwide, and the sponsorship of underprivileged students at junior high school, senior high school, and university levels.

Recognition and Legacy

Stephen’s exceptional leadership and goodwill have earned him significant social capital in Nkawkaw and beyond. His deep-rooted commitment to his people has been recognised in various ways.

In addition to being made a regent in his hometown of Ekumfi Srafa Kokodo, his name continues to surface in discussions about individuals in Kwahuman who have engineered social change and made a significant impact.

Stephen Edwin Ewoodzie’s life embodies the principles of hard work, service, and leadership. From his early days as a teacher to his roles as a humanitarian, entrepreneur, and community builder, he has remained steadfast in his mission to uplift others.

The doctorate conferred upon him by the International Kingdom University, Sweden, is not merely an honour; it is a validation of his years of dedication to humanity, faith, and development. Congratulations to him—this recognition is well deserved.
