Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, has expressed his willingness to contribute to the day-to-day operation of football in the country to ensure the sport gets the deserving development it requires.
According to him, people who have been involved in the game before as players should be given an opportunity to also play a leading role to help grow it.
He made the remarks in an interview on Sompa FM.
“Sometimes the legends, the former players don’t get the chance. I have observed that football is run by footballers. It is not about the grammar that you will use. I hope that one of us will one day have the chance to come and lead Ghana football,” he said.
“Some of us are very humble…We all want to help.”
Since bowing out of the game, Appiah has had the opportunity to be a part of the Black Stars’ technical team while also serving as part of the management committee member of the national team.
