Ghana’s Education Minister and football investor, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has once again demonstrated his commitment to youth development in sports by facilitating trials for five young footballers at Italian giants AC Milan.
The promising under-16 players – Shamsudeen Sulemana, Jafar Abdullah, David Adeti, Theophilus Ahadzi, and Abdul Wahid Nuhu – have been given the opportunity to showcase their talent with the seven-time Champions League winners.
The extent of their trials remains unknown but there is a high chance the players could be retained should they impress scouts of the Italian giants.
The Member of Parliament owns both Steadfast FC, a Division One club based in Tamale, and Premier League outfit Karela United.
Through his efforts, several young players have already found pathways into the global game.
One of the most notable success stories is Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who rose through the ranks at Steadfast before sealing a high-profile move to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
Fatawu now plies his trade with English club Leicester City and remains a key figure in Ghana’s senior national team setup.
