The Minister for Sports and Recreation has “really commended” the Ghana Swimming Association for its steady growth over the years.
The sport has shown significant progress, particularly with the hosting of major competitions, including the recently concluded Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior and Senior Championships, as well as the swimming events at the 2023 African Games.
The Association has also taken initiative by supporting its swimmers to represent Ghana at international competitions, with eight swimmers recently representing the country at the Africa Junior Swimming Championships.
“As I watch the young ones – that is Swimming Federation – leave for Egypt [Africa Junior Swimming Championships], I could not help but just admire the determination and love with which they did it as I watch the videos that were making rounds when they departed at the airport,” Adams said.
“Let me use this medium to really commend them [Ghana Swimming Association for the steady progress they are making]”
Up next for the Ghana Swimming Association is ensuring Ghana’s successful participation in the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, scheduled for July.
