Final year Senior High School students are back to school for their final exams. However, after the outbreak of Coronavirus in some High schools such as Accra Girls SHS, a lot of people have been calling on Government to shut down schools since the lives of the students is in great danger.

Responding to this call from the general public, the Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has said that shutting down schools would be impossible.

Elaborating on why he said so, the controversial Minister said when the kids are allowed to go home, they could be exposed to social vices and those female students could also fall prey to rape predators.

Do you know what may happen to some of them when they are home? They could be opened up to rape predators and other vices,” he argued in local dialect Asante Twi in an interview on Peace FM.

“I will be committing a sin if I ask that because of some few cases I ask that schools are closed down,” Dr. Opoku Prempeh explained.
