Professor Ransford Edward Gyampo, Acting Chief Executive of Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), has expressed happiness over the progress of work on the Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal project in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
He commended Justmoh Construction Limited, the Ghanaian company, executing the project for the good work done so far, and said it was a testament of the capacity of local companies to undertake such high-profile projects in the country.
Professor Gyampoh, was speaking to journalists after inspecting progress of work at the project site on Tuesday.
The Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal, also referred to as the Boankra Inland Port, is a pivotal cargo handling infrastructure aimed at enhancing logistics and cargo transportation network in Ghana and fostering economic development.
It is set to function as a central point for handling and transportation of both import and export cargo, and thereby, reduce congestion at the nation’s ports, while facilitating cargo transportation and trade between Ghana and its neighbouring countries.
Prof. Gyampo assured the government’s determination to ensure the speedy completion of the project, adding that it was an important project which needed the attention of the government.
He pointed out that, the successful conclusion of the Boankra Integrated Logistics Terminal project would have a significant impact on Ghana’s trade and economy, generating employment opportunities and catalyze growth in the transportation and logistics sectors.
Dr. Justice Amo, Chief Executive Officer of Justmoh Construction Limited, said the company was working hard to deliver exceptional work on the Boankra Inland Port project, to ensure value for money on the substantial investment made by the government.
This commitment, according to Dr. Amo, exemplifies Justmoh Construction’s commitment to excellence and its role in propelling Ghana’s economic progress.
Dr J.B Koranteng Yorke, Project Director of Boankra Inland Port, said the first phase of the project was currently 82% complete, and would soon be operational.
He said the company was awaiting financial clearance from the government to expedite work at the site.
