National Democratic Congress (NDC) official Ludwig Hlordze has called on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to leverage its former presidents’ experience during its rebuilding phase.
Addressing the NPP National Delegates Conference at the University of Ghana Stadium, the NDC Director of Logistics and Protocol emphasized consultation with past leaders as vital for credible opposition.
“Your party must appreciate the importance of having two surviving former presidents,” Hlordze stated, urging the NPP to avoid sidelining senior statesmen. He framed such collaboration as essential for strengthening Ghana’s political landscape amid what he described as the country’s ongoing “reset process.” The NDC representative acknowledged the opposition’s restructuring efforts while encouraging constructive engagement with President John Mahama’s administration.
Hlordze concluded with an appeal for cross-party unity, stressing that Ghana’s transformation requires collective responsibility. “We must leave a legacy for generations unborn by growing our democracy and creating a just country,” he asserted, advocating joint efforts to reform state institutions. The remarks signal the ruling party’s tactical approach to opposition relations under the current NDC government.
