Rotary has renewed its pledge to do more good and increase its impact in Ghana. At a colourful ceremony in Accra, the service organization ushered in new leadership for District 9104.

The new leadership has pledged to expand Rotary’s footprint through more clubs and impactful projects, reaffirming its long-standing mission to serve and transform lives across the country.

Since Rotary’s arrival in Ghana in 1958, the organization has left a lasting legacy, from leading the fight against polio to building schools and health facilities in underserved communities. That mission continues with new leadership at the helm of Rotary District 9104.

From “Creating Hope in the World” with Past District Governor (PDG) David Amankwah Jr. to Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Florence Maame Hagan’s magical term, the baton now passes to District Governor Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe — only the second woman to lead Rotary District 9104.

“My dear Rotarians and Retractors, let us always remember that the four-way test is our guiding light and so when we unite for good this Rotary year, we are ensuring that we are continuing to create hope in this broken, divided world and that wherever we go, we will take the magic of Rotary, which supports improving our communities and helping to provide lasting solutions,” District Governor Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe.

DG Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe says one of her top priorities is to grow Rotary’s footprint across the country — not just in numbers, but in impact.

“Currently, we have 71 Rotary clubs, 59 Rotaract clubs, and 36 Interact clubs and since Ghana is a district on its own, we would want to expand the presence of Rotary countrywide. We envision to open more clubs, be they passport, satellite, e-clubs, cause-based, interest-based or our traditional and Rotarac clubs.

The need to grow our membership base is very necessary as we deem it important to support our communities that desperately need help,” District Governor Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe.

Also stepping into a key role is Olive Naa Asheley Addo from the Rotaract Club of Accra East Legon. She is the new District Rotaract Representative, leading Rotaract’s efforts across the country.

“This year, we are called to sustain the magic, deepen our impact, and create hope in our communities and beyond. We believe that, as Rotaractors, when we truly unite for good, there are no limits to what we can achieve. Our goals for the year are focused, bold, and deeply aligned with Rotary’s vision. We are going to promote leadership continuity and membership growth,” DRR Olive Naa Asheley Addo said.

As she takes up her new role, Olive expressed her trust not only in the cause but in the strength of the Rotaract community.

“As I begin this new chapter with all of you, I do so with confidence, not in myself alone, but in us, a united, driven, and service-minded Rotaract family. Let’s serve with courage, lead with compassion, and unite for good. Let’s sustain the magic, build tenacity, and make a difference together.” – DRR Olive Naa Asheley Addo

Ijeoma Pearl Okoro, who is a long-time member of the Rotary family, was the Guest speaker. Former Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, also graced the occasion.

Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Florence Maame Hagan, who also graced the occasion, told DG Nana Siriboe that  “I am confident that you will bring fresh energy to the role that thrives on innovation” and to “lead with heart and serve with joy, laugh, be sincere and honest”.

Past District Governor (PDG) David Amankwah Jr. said, “Your leadership comes at a time when Unity is paramount. I have no doubt that this Rotary year will be marked by significant achievements and meaningful service under your guidance.”

It is the hope of Rotary’s new leadership that the wheels of change will keep turning with the magic that unites all Rotarians, Rotaractors and Ghanaians for good.
