‎RisingSun Montessori Schools make a strong mark in the fast-growing UCMAS programme

RisingSun Montessori Schools continue to make a strong mark in the fast-growing UCMAS programme, which has become one of the most sought-after educational competitions in Ghana.

‎At the 2025 National Championship, the school’s students excelled brilliantly, winning over 20 trophies and medals across various categories.

‎‎UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System) is a globally recognized programme that sharpens children’s concentration, creativity, and problem-solving skills through mental arithmetic.

‎The school’s New Bortianor branch presented 36 students, five of whom competed with more than 100 contestants in the Elementary A category. Michelle Yaa Asiedu emerged Champion, while Abigail Coleman placed 1st Runner-Up.

‎In the Basic category, 14 RisingSun students competed against over 200 nationwide, with Seyram Afi Tsagli taking 1st Runner-Up, and several others securing 3rd positions.

‎Other shining stars included Steve Kwasi Asamoah-Duah, crowned Champion (F.C), and Nana Ama Gyedua Afram, who won 3rd place (L.CC).‎

‎Students from the Dome and Lashibi branches also delivered impressive results, with multiple top-three placements across different categories.‎

‎Resilience‎

‎CEO of RisingSun Montessori Schools, Patrick Acheampong, praised the students for their hard work, discipline, and resilience.‎

‎“This victory is a testament to the commitment and talent of our students, as well as the dedication of our teachers and parents. At RisingSun, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also confidence, creativity, and resilience in our children, and these results show that we are on the right path,” he said.‎

‎He further emphasized the importance of competitions like UCMAS in shaping young minds for future success.‎

‎“We are proud of all our students, not just those who brought home trophies, but every child who stepped forward to challenge themselves. Winning is important, but the greater victory is in the confidence, problem-solving skills, and discipline these children are building for life. RisingSun will continue to create opportunities that help them shine beyond the classroom,” Mr. Acheampong added.
