Quecy Official clarifies relationship saga with Presidoo

Ghanaian content creator and influencer, Quecy Official has addressed the long-standing rumours surrounding his alleged relationship with fellow creator Presidoo, also known as Akosua Diqson making it clear that the supposed romance was nothing more than a content-driven trend.

Speaking in a recent interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show, Quecy admitted that while the public believed he and Presidoo were romantically involved, the reality was entirely different.

“Unfortunately, I am not ready for finding love at the moment. As far as my desires, aspirations, and dreams are concerned, I am focused on my career,” he explained. “We never dated. I never proposed to her. We never kissed. I never even touched her sexually. It never happened.”

According to Quecy, the narrative of their “relationship” emerged organically from their collaborations. Presido, who often presented herself as a tomboy, appeared differently after they connected, sparking speculation among fans.

Quecy stressed the difference between a content creator and an influencer, noting that his primary role was to entertain and keep fans engaged.

“People felt like if we were dating, it wouldn’t be bad. So, the audience bestowed that relationship on us. And as content creators, we played along. Whatever I do on social media is not to please me but my fans, my followers. If a particular content catches on, you hammer there. That’s what happened,” he explained.

However, as the relationship gained momentum, it began to weigh heavily on him.

The pressure grew when fans and even people abroad began investing in the supposed union, with some offering to sponsor a wedding.

“People felt like we looked too good together. Some even pledged gowns and sponsorship. But there was nothing going on. To avoid disappointing them, we had to stage-manage explanations,” he furthered.

Eventually, Quecy and Presidoo decided to end the façade, even agreeing not to engage on each other’s posts to signal the “breakup” to fans. But the decision sparked backlash.

Quecy emphasized the blurred lines between entertainment and reality on social media, indicating that the relationship was staged to gain public traction.
