Senior Vice President of IMANI-Africa, Kofi Bentil, has warned that the approach being used to prosecute former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is unlikely to succeed.
Speaking on JoyNews, Bentil said, “The strategy with which the case has been handled, it’ll lead to a defeat.”
He emphasised that the prosecution’s current methods leave the case vulnerable to legal challenges and are not likely to withstand scrutiny in court.
Bentil added, “With the kind of defenses available to Ofori-Atta and the calibre of lawyers representing him, the prosecution needs a much more carefully considered strategy. The way it has been done so far is fundamentally flawed.”
He noted that high-profile cases such as this require meticulous legal preparation, warning that missteps could not only lead to a loss in court but also undermine public confidence in the justice system.
