Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has urged Ghanaians to embrace unity, peace and moral renewal as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr following the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at Eid prayers at the Forecourt of the State House on Friday, where she joined worshippers of the Ahlus-Sunna Wal Jamaa community, the Vice President highlighted the spiritual significance of Ramadan and the enduring lessons it offers.

“Ramadan is a spiritual journey that nurtures consciousness, strengthens self-discipline, and refines moral character,” she said. She noted that the month is not only a time for fasting but also an opportunity for spiritual growth, fostering discipline, compassion, honesty, and the cultivation of healthy habits.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also reflected on global and national challenges, emphasising the importance of unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence as essential ingredients for societal progress.
