Prestea Huni-Valley MCE leads operation to halt galamsey activity on Apiate stretch

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni-Valley in the Western region, Matthew Ayeh, on Wednesday, led a rapid response operation to clamp down on illegal mining activities involving some Chinese nationals and their Ghanaian collaborators along the Apiate stretch of the municipality.

Speaking in an interview following the exercise, Mr Ayeh explained that his outfit has established dedicated anti-galamsey hotlines to enable residents to promptly report any illegal mining activity that threatens the environment and water bodies.
